Benett Kessler, Critical Voice of the Eastern Sierra, 1950 – 2015

Benett Kessler, founder and owner of Sierra Wave media whose work as a dedicated life-long journalist fought to expose the injustices and effects of LADWP’s excessive groundwater pumping and other negative environmental policies throughout Owens Valley and Inyo/Mono County died from complications from cancer on January 2, 2015. She was 65 years old.

I was fortunate enough to meet with her and discuss her life’s work while producing There It Is Take It!  I feel that Benett is one of the strongest voices of the program. I hope you all can take a moment and listen to her story and reflect on a life dedicated to public service and justice for both humans, wildlife and the land itself.
